Yeovil & District Canine Society offers Ringcraft Training to anyone interested in showing dogs and has been established since 1904 .  We meet every Wednesday evening at Kingsdon Village Hall from 7.45pm

We aim to provide help and advice on all aspects of dog showing in a friendly and sociable environment where you can relax and chat to other doggie folk. Our experienced trainers will advise you on how to make the most of the your dog at a show and for those with youngsters, provide an opportunity for them to socialise with other dogs.

The Club is run by a volunteer committee and we always welcome interest from members who would like to become more involved.

Wenhold 2 shows a year.  Our Premier Open Show is held with Yeovil Show at the Yeovil Showground in July and our Members Limit Show in December.

We hope anyone attending our training or our shows has a positive experience and we are always interested to hear from you with your thoughts on ways we can improve

7.45pm – 8.15pm – Puppy training session

We feel it is important that Puppies get the opportunity of being introduced to Ringcraft in a quiet and stress free environment and we are therefore starting training earlier for them.  We would encourage all owners of puppies under the age of 12 months to bring them to this session.

Chairs are put near the stage for anyone with puppies so that if you wish to stay after the puppy session with your pup, you can, and socialise them with each other or with the older dogs.

8.15pm onwards

We  open training to all at 8.15pm.  However,  if we find that we have a lot of dogs attending we will split the training a bit to give all sizes of dogs the chance to train properly.  We are anxious that the quality of training does not go down and we ask for your help with this.

If the training session is busy, the trainers may ask a group of dogs to sit out for a while and have a coffee or a chat.  This will allow the trainer to concentrate on a smaller group.  There will be plenty of opportunity for training for everyone but we need your input again to help us to make it work.

We try to lay out the hall to give the dogs as much room as possible.   We would be grateful if you could move away from the door when you come in, and when entering, please check your route into the hall is clear.

Please ring if you have any queries or suggestions to improve our training sessions
