Welcome

May 3rd, 2012

We are a club offering Ringcraft Training to anyone interested in showing dogs and have been established over 70 years. We meet every Wednesday evening at Kingsdon Village Hall from 8pm.

We aim to provide help and advice on all aspects of dog showing in a friendly and sociable environment where you can relax and chat to other doggie folk. Our experienced trainers will advise you on how to make the most of the your dog at a show and for those with youngsters, provide an opportunity for them to socialise with other dogs.

The Club is run by a volunteer committee and we always welcome interest from members who would like to become more involved.

We hold two shows a year. Our annual Open Show in December attracts over 900 dog entries. The show is hold at the Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet. Details can be found on this website and advertisements are put annually in the dog papers. Our Limit Show for members is held every June at Keinton Mandeville village hall. This show is much smaller and many of our members come to catch up with friends, bring out new dogs and enjoy themselves.

We hope anyone attending our training or our shows has a positive experience and we are always interested to hear from you with your thoughts on ways we can improve.

May 3rd, 2012

We are pleased to announce that our next Open Show will be held on:

DECEMBER 30th 2012 at The Showering Pavilion, Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet

The change of date has come about because we lost our slot in January at the venue.  We are very grateful to the Kennel Club for granting us an additional licene for 2012 in order that we could hold our show.

We are now working hard on the Classification and Judges to ensure that we have another successful show.

Schedules will be printed in August and will be sent to all last year’s exhibitors but if you wish to have a schedule, please email our Secretary – Jacky Ash -  hillcloudwesties@btinternet.com

TRAINING TRIAL

May 3rd, 2012

Thank you to everyone who has emailed and completed the questionnaire regarding the training trial.

The comments coming back are very mixed but the general view is that most people prefer a split in training with the table dogs and large dogs being trained separately but there have been plenty of you who would like the times swopped about so that everyone gets a chance of the earlier session.

You have also commented that you would like the dogs to mix a bit too so that all size dogs get the chance to interact.

The Committee have decided that a decision cannot be taken quickly without full discussion so we have called a meeting on 31st May to discuss this fully.

We will continue the trial for the rest of May as originally planned and then let you know, on the website and through email (to those addresses we have) of the plan for June.

If you would like to comment further please email Jacky our Secretary as it is very important to us that we make decisions based on your wishes.

Thanks again for your continued input
