Ringcraft Training

Ringcraft is all about training you and your dog how to show in the show ring.

Anyone with a pedigree dog can come along and learn the art of showing.
You do not need any experience and you can just turn up (this is not a set course).  We run training every week on a Wednesday evening at 7.45pm for puppies and 8.15pm for adults.

You will need to join the club if you would like to take part – but come along one week and see if it is for you first.
You only need to bring your dog, on a show lead if you have one (don’t worry if you haven’t we can advise you on what to buy).  We do recommend you wear sensible footwear as we take your safety very seriously and do not want you to trip or fall when moving your dog around the hall.
You can bring your dog from 4 months of age providing he/she is fully innoculated.  We ask you not to come if your dog has been unwell recently or shows any signs of Kennel Cough.

WHO TRAINS YOU?
You will be trained by a committee member.  We are very  lucky to be able to draw on the experience of long established show people, who have had great success in the show ring and some of whom judge at the top level at Championship Shows.
We also train our trainers so that anyone interested in being on the committee is taught the finer aspects of the dogs.

WHAT IF I AM NOT THAT SERIOUS ABOUT SHOWING MY DOG?
Many of our members come along for the social side of the club.  They enjoy chatting to doggy folk and giving their dogs, young and old, the opportunity to mix with other dogs.
Even if you never plan to show your dog we hope you will enjoy your evenings with us.
